Morna Sung

BSc (Hons) Osteopathy

Morna has been helping people from all walks of life through therapeutic touch since 2010 when she qualified as a Sports Massage Therapist. This was an incidental qualification whilst she was studying Osteopathy. Morna holds two degrees with first class honours: a Bachelor of Science in Osteopathy awarded from Oxford Brookes University, and a Bachelor of Science in Physiology and Pharmacology awarded from University of Southampton.

Over the years, Morna practised in a number of highly reputable and long-established private osteopathic clinics in the West Midlands, Berkshire, and Oxfordshire. All the while, building her own patient base from around Oxfordshire and, increasingly, further afield.

To help you best get back to doing the things you enjoy, Morna will use insight into your individual experience and pain reality, in order to acknowledge and consider other influencing factors when making a diagnosis. Through this process, she optimises the treatment outcomes and overall management process of a fuller, more holistic, maybe even transformational, healing journey to your personal recovery. Morna’s patient-centred care approach takes into consideration psychological (thoughts, emotions, and behaviours), social, and biophysical factors, which all play a significant role in health, rather than focusing solely on the symptoms of the disease or physical ailment.

Hands-on treatment follows Morna’s assessment-based diagnosis of the patient’s biophysical imbalance. Treatment may involve mobilising joints, massaging with specific focus or, often in more complex cases, a very gentle therapeutic touch. Aims of treatment include reducing pain, addressing joint restriction, releasing muscular tension, improving circulation around the body, and rebalancing nerve information flow, as well as guiding self-empowerment.

With over 10 years of hands-on experience treating patients from all walks of life, Morna has built up extensive proficiency and knowledge in treating people suffering from chronic stress, and post-traumatic stress disorder. Read patient testimonials about how Morna has also helped people with acute injuries or more chronic issues e.g. active people with various sporting injuries; office workers with neck and shoulder pain; new mums or mums to be with back pain; people suffering with pain from osteoarthritis in the hips or knees, as well as nerve-related pain.

Away from her treatment space Morna’s hobbies include strength training, playing the piano, meditation, and yoga. Morna also teaches yoga integrated with a meditative practice. This can also form a complementary adjunct to your course of treatment, further incorporating that holistic approach in your personal journey of transforming your general health and wellbeing. In 2020, Morna qualified as a yoga teacher (200 hours) with senior yoga teacher trainer and founder of Sukhita Yoga, Hugh Poulton.
